I understand from the Trust that they have themed this newsletter with a fundraising slant, and as a result of this I'm unashamedly giving them a plug!

We've been working, on and off, with the Trust for eight years now - our first involvement was in 1995 when the charity began and more recently we have been supporting them via funding for the annual Awards, in which we have been included via the Sony International Impact Award.

What have we gained from this relationship? In short, a huge amount - the detail is far too great to go into in this article. Everyone within Sony who has come into contact with the charity has benefited, and as an organisation we have been able to put something back into a community that has supported our Company over many years.

As a result of our involvement with the Trust, we've publicly discussed issues and developments that we would never have thought to tackle only a few years ago, and have had glimpses and insights into cultures, conflicts and individual lives that have been highly revealing, often emotive and always educational.

Certainly, our partnership with the Rory Peck Trust has been beneficial to the image of Sony, but I firmly believe, as do many of my colleagues, that the main and most important benefit that we have reaped has been as individuals.

To summarise, and to be very blunt, support the Trust any way you can. Its work is unique, and there is sadly a growing need for the important, often life-changing services that it provides.

Thank you.
